Just for the smell of it

I love fall smells.

So Saturday night I decided to make OVERNIGHT APPLE OATMEAL, just so I could wake up to the smell of apples and cinnamon.

Not only did our house smell SO YUMMY when we got up for church, but we had a good (& easy) breakfast that morning.

I have tried a few different Crockpot Apple Oatmeal recipes, and this one is my favorite.

OVERNIGHT APPLE OATMEAL
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 9 hours,
Ingredients:
2 cups milk (water or apple juice will work too)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. melted butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup regular oats
1 cup peeled, chopped apple
1/2 cup chopped dates or raisins (opt)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (opt)

Preparation:
Spray the inside of a 3-4 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and mix well. Cover and turn on LOW setting. Cook overnight or 8-9 hours. Stir well before serving.

(HINT** I use slow cooker (crock pot) liners, because it will usually burn a little around the edges and it is MUCH easier to just throw the liner away.)
