No fun!

Keeley is sick.

Yestday morning I woke up to Keeleys right eye being swollen shut, like a little pirate, Arg! I thought that he must have poked it or gotten something in it. I didn't think much about it.

Then the other eye seemed to be swelling shut. So I had Ty call Cyndi (our vet back home). She said to flush his eyes out with water and to keep an eye on him... so thats what we did. I went on with my day, thinking nothing of the swollen little animal following me around.

About an hour later he started throwing up every half an hour and he was shaking violently. At this point his face is so swollen that I wouldn't recognize him in a line up.

I totally freaked out! I decided to call the vet here. They told me they are booked, but when I explained the symptoms, "something opened up".

We rushed to the vet (who happened to be from Stillwater Oklahoma, and got his degree at OSU). The vet looks closely and points out that under his fluffy hair, his face is more swollen then I originally thought. He was swollen all through his cheeks, forehead, nose, eyes and neck. (Think the dog version of Will Smith in Hutch!)

Then they weighed him and he is down 1/4 of a pound, since last Friday (yeah we were at the vet for an ear infection last Friday!). That is quite a bit of weight for only weighing 9 pounds.

After a full check up, the conclusion is-- Keeley was bit or stung by a poisonous bug, spider or bee and he is having a full body allergy reaction.

He had to get 2 shots, and we are giving him benadryl every 6 hours for the next 2 days.

He hasn't been able to keep any food in him for over a day. And he is walking around very slowly and doesn't even have the energy to jump up on to the couch to sit with me. It is breaking my heart.

Hopefully he'll be back to his hyper and annoying self in no time ♥
